Always Buzzing Just like Neon

Every year we watch the Muppets Christmas Carol on DVD on Christmas Eve, but because my grandparents will be coming over and watching Hogfather then instead, we watched it tonight! It brings back childhood feelings. I can't believe another year has gone so fast. My favourite song is one that the Ghost of Christmas Present sings, but I've forgotten it already. xD

(And I just looked at the date and went HOLY HELL IT'S THE TWENTY FIRST ALREADY?! Dear GODS, where did the last week GO? O . o)

A LiveGerbil friend won an award for her poetry and even though it was someone else's achievement, this news made me feel very happy for her. It's a good feeling to know that I can find pleasure in the good fortune of others.

Day 12- im actually posting on the right day!

its snowed a lot last night. not as much as they said but we still got about 8 inches. i spent lots of time shoveling and then doing laundry at the laundromat with my mom.

i love snow days because i can just relax. i spent the whole day pretty much finishing the vampire diaries books. they were amazing. i'm so upset that they are done. i love finishing a book because of the excitement of how its going to end and whats going to happen to the characters. But i hate the feeling after you finish it of like "great now its over" its like this emptiness because you have spent so much time with the characters and have immersed yourself in the world of the book that i just feel so empty when its done.

i need new books to read--ones that create an amazing exciting world that i can become a part of in my mind. [weird i know]- any suggestions??

Today I talked with my best friend for about an hour. We are separated by 5000 miles, an 8 hour time difference, and busy lives, but she always makes me laugh. I love her! :)

 Day 5 (yesterday):
~Had a busy yet fun day at work.
~ Co-worker who has been feeling ill was feeling better.
~Had a fun, silly evening with my man.

Day 7 so far:
~Bought groceries for the week and spent less than I thought I would.
~Covered window with plastic and now kitchen is warmer.
~Sunshine is warm!

Having had some snow fall over the past couple of days the birds are flocking to the seed we put out. One left  more than a footprint.

Geez, I need to get back in the habit of doing this. I haven't been feeling too good lately.

My little ferret girl. She actually scruffed today - she usually squirms when you scruff her. But she's gorgeous, whenever she sees me at the window to their room she goes nuts and gets really happy when I pick her up. Love her. I'm grateful for her.

All the Christmas presents are getting to their destinations on time and the weather forecast for the place I'm visiting is turning from miserable (-40) to tolerable (-10). Also, I've always wanted to see a World Junior Hockey Championship and by a happy coincidence this year it's being played at the place I'll be visiting for Christmas. A family member has gotten some tickets too. It's shaping up to be a great Christmas.

So glad to have found this group!

My positives for today are: Received a Christmas card from an unexpected person with a lovely note inside. Found a free audio yoga class I can put on my ipod for when I travel. Inflated my new stability ball instead of ignoring it till after the new year. Made a healthy lunch/dinner.

Day 10- this was yesterday but i forgot to post. me and my brother and sister went to a portrait place to get a professional portrait taken to give to our parents for christmas. it came out really cute, i just hope they like it. i also hung out with my friend ashley and we just drove around singing along to the radio and talking. it was actually really fun.

Day 11- today isn't over yet. but if i don't post now i might forget again. my parents are out right now getting our christmas tree before the storm comes. I'm really excited for the storm. i love being comfy and stuck inside with movies and books to read. I also went to the library on my way home from the dentist [yuck] and i got the second part of the Vampire Diaries book series. i read the first one in two days so I'm really excited to read this one. If you watch the show---or even if you don't you should all read the books. its pretty different from the show but its the kind of book that just sucks you in and totally makes you feel like you in a different world. i love that feeling.

My eyes hurt a little less today. I went to the Christmas parties of a couple of clients and some of the people who haven't seen me in three years not only remembered me, they came up to me and said they missed me and hoped to work with me again. :)

Day 54 and lots to be positive about. Where to start?

1. The potluck party went well last night and I even managed to bring some leftover chocolate cheesecake home. I plan to have a piece as soon as I finish this journal entry.
2. We got a call from the furniture store that is making our bedroom dresser. It's ready and will be delivered on Monday.
3. I heard a great podcast from the Economist today about (yeah I know this sounds weird for this community, but) pessimism. It was very good and taught me how realistic optimism is the best kind and how being positive and being real don't have to be mutually exclusive concepts.
4. I'm such a Christmas dork, I've just finished listening to a bunch of Christmas music and journalled about my favourite Christmas songs, and it's put me in a happy mood.

Time for some chocolate cheesecake!
